Remember His words
- Sermon By: Ps. Phuti Moyaha (Lead Pastor)
”And they remembered His words.” Luke 24:8 NKJV
An important fact that should never be forgotten is that Jesus was crucified, buried and
resurrected. We have come to understand the power of His resurrection
However, in His time, those around Him forgot the things He said when He was with them.
When certain women went to check His tomb, they had forgotten what He had said before. Luke
24:3-8 says, “Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as
they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you
seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you
when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful
men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ” And they remembered His words.“ The
angels had to remind them of His words. And then they remembered His words.
Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples had forgotten what He had said. “But Peter arose and ran
to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed,
marveling to himself at what had happened.“ Luke 24:12 NKJV. However, when He denied Jesus
Christ, He remembered His words. ”And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter
remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will
deny Me three times.” Luke 22:61 NKJV. Don’t wait to deny your faith first before you remember
what God said. Even when the day of fulfillment came, the two guys from Emmaus had also
forgotten His words, even when He was with them. It took Him opening their eyes for them to
remember. Sometimes, we even forget what God said to us especially when the situation does
not look like what God said but always remember His words!
